What does the result mean?
A lower response time generally means the tested server answered more quickly. Results can change because of routing, geographic distance, congestion, DNS, TLS negotiation and the destination server itself.

Is this the same as ICMP ping?
No. Web pages cannot normally send raw ICMP packets. This tool performs browser-based HTTPS reachability measurements instead.
Why can the result differ from my computer's ping command?
The measurement uses your browser and HTTPS, so protocol overhead and browser security rules make it different from a local ICMP ping.
Can I enter a full URL?
Yes. The tool extracts the hostname, although entering a domain such as example.com is simplest.
